About Mikva’s Chicago Youth Response Team: Our youth-led advisory councils remove barriers to help youth participate in the formation, implementation, and evaluation of public policy while also providing critical youth employment and income. The Chicago Youth Response Team taps into Mikva’s expertise and allows youth to be not only youth-leaders and change-makers, but provides them with the skills and networks to be digital thought-leaders and advocates on the front lines. Mikva's Response Team will: Amplify youth voices, experiences, ideas and concerns via social media platforms during this global crisis Bring youth voices into the national policy discussion by sharing the stories and ideas of young people with decision makers, elected officials and the media in ways that support youth, their families and their communities Create content that is inventive and interactive to spark sharing, spread information, engage on critical issues facing their communities, and build teen-friendly spaces for public good Equip youth with the skills, tools, and access to mobilize and disseminate a response to the COVID-19 crisis Inspire other youth to be actively involved as civic leaders, storytellers and advocates | |
