The events of the last month, and the historic nature of this election’s transfer of power, have reaffirmed the core of Mikva Challenge’s mission to train young people to be informed, empowered and active civic leaders who will build a more just and equitable society. |
To support and amplify our youth leaders and their achievements, Mikva Challenge is kicking off a 100-day national campaign to spotlight youth who are informing and reshaping their communities and the nation. 100 Days: Youth Reshaping Democracy |
The campaign starts today with the #YouthPriorities video challenge. In partnership with teachers across the country – students nationwide are speaking out about what issue they want the new President and Vice President to prioritize in the first hundred days of the new administration and Congress as part of the #YouthPriorities video challenge. |
Issues identified by youth as high priorities include: COVID-19 relief in the form of access to quality healthcare, financial assistance, and restrictions to decrease spread; addressing climate change; immigration reform and pathways to citizenship for young people and their families; improved policing and accountability; and student loan debt relief.
